Get to know Stuart Parsons
I was born in Waco and have lived in the Waco area my entire life. I graduated from Robinson High School. My first year of college, I attended Vernon Junior College where I played baseball. I then transferred to Navarro Junior College where I played football. Finally I attended Baylor University for two years. During my business career I have served on several different boards in my field as well as being the Chairman of the Duro-Last National Advisory Board. I am also a member of the Chalk Bluff First Baptist Church.
I started working with my family at the age of six. I worked my way from the bottom of the ladder to the top. One of my first job duties was sweeping warehouses. I then continued up the ladder by being on a crew and putting down roofs, then moved to superintendent, project manager, estimator and sales and am now the President of the company. At one point during my career, I would sell a job, be the project manager for the job, and help the crew with installing the roof.
I attribute my business knowledge to my father, Stuart Sr., and my mother, Sue. I owe everything to them for the opportunities they have provided me. I have learned so much by what they have taught me about the business and allowing me to be involved in the business beginning at such a young age.
I also attribute some of my success to my supportive family. My wife, Jenny which is my backbone, and my four wonderful children, Ashton, Trey, Remy and Parker who will be the fourth generation of the business.
When I am not working, I enjoy hobbies which include hunting and working on my whitetail deer farm and ranch. I also enjoy participating in competitive barefoot waterskiing, in which I have earned several national titles. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids…they keep me smiling!
